In Order To Survive I walked into her fire When I told her she was wrong She said time is running out, We’re not gettin any younger She took me by the hand Smiled n dragged me On the dance floor, And she said Are you always this mature i told her I’m not sure Is your heart an open door And we danced on the empty floor You, you’re trying to prove something Told her i didn’t have any answers anyhow Just worries and questions And mountains of indecision She took a sip from her wineglass And then she took a bow Then she said Are you always this unsure i told her i'm not sure Oh my hearts an open door She never looked so pure Oh and we danced right out the door We danced right out the door And i never felt so sure I was the cancer she was the cure There isn’t anybody here To tell us how to run our lives Ohh nobody here To tell us how to run our lives And so we learn to disappear To dream to dance to cry And so we learn to disappear In order in order to survive I couldn’t help to admire The way she pretends Like the worlds gonna end anytime She says lets shelter ourselves And she drew me a picture The colours and lines were exquisite Even though she was blind And she said Are you always this unsure I told her I’m not sure

Rhapsody In Pink Sing to me Honest melody As you lay me down to sleep One that sweeps me off my feet Put the storybooks back on the shelf All by yourself It’s a rhapsody By the colour of pink For an broken heart to hear If i could cry id shed one tear The only thing I have to fear Is fear itself Just a rhapsody in pink For our aching hearts to heal Don’t believe what you think And question what’s real Just a rhapsody in pink Tell me again Again about the time When you first laid eyes on me You said my soul was like the sea You said you could never be the same again It’s just a rhapsody in pink For our empty (broken) hearts to heal Don’t believe what you think And question what’s real (x2) Sing to me honest melody A rhapsody to push out boundaries Will you push your boundaries for me It’s just a rhapsody in pink For our empty (broken) hearts to heal Don’t believe what you think And question what’s real Just a rhapsody in pink, A rhapsody in pink

Weakness My weakness Is my most powerful teacher My weakness Is my greatest source of strength My weakness Also my greatest companion My weakness Talk about it at length Don’t give me strength Give me weakness My weakness makes me vulnerable to you My weakness My most faithful companion My weakness Make me humble and true My weakness Is so attractive to you Don’t give me strength Give me weakness

Blood On The Microphone Bring me a bottle of brandy And a carton of cigarettes There’s blood on the microphone But wont get no rest Until i sing my song Completely wrong And extremely loud Until my voice is gone gone gone yeah Sick of your ear candy And your terrible jokes There's blood on the microphone And ill keep taking some tokes Until my voice has bled Till I’m completely dead Leave me alone in this dingy studio Keep the tape rolling till I’m done Until i go With blood on the microphone Draw he lines Connect the dots Roll the tape Smile and give all you go You know You mean it Angels sing With the voice in your head Take thehaters make them lovers instead You know They need it So bring me a bottle of brandy And just a glimmer of hope You reap what you have sown But it's a slippery slope That youre going down And if you think im a clown You better believe in what youre fighting for Cuz im nto gonna take your punches Anymore no Draw he lines Connect the dots Roll the tape Smile and give all you go You know You mean it

Love In Your Heart All that is light Floats to the top All that is moving Comes to a stop All who are loving learn to let go Of all that is living And all that is not Is there love in your heart Is there love in your heart All that is heavy Weighing us down All who are angry Carry the frown Of hatred and envy, jealousy Greed need desire aversion and guilt Bringing us down From seeing our kingdom From wearing our crown Is there love in your heart Is there love in your heart

about

Jon Cohen Ex Montréal, Québec

Fantasy prom king, master crafter of cult-pop gems and multi-threat instrumentalist Jon Cohen Experimental creates sweet but potent stories that spring from curiosity. This dynamic one-man band's beguiling art rock inventions and melodic hooks promise a sultry escape from those pesky workaday hang-ups. At times folksy, indie and at times grungy, the E.L.O vs. 90’s vibe is raw and unapologetic. ... more
